In the early days, there were few web portals with cryptocurrency statistics and data associated with these ever-changing markets for digital assets and blockchain metrics. However, more than a decade later, data and analytics associated with the world’s most popular and widely used digital currencies have surged with growth. The following article deals with a variety of web portals that offer insights into the innovative land of cryptocurrencies.

Charts, onchain metrics and aggregation of the market capitalization of coins

Over a decade ago, there were a number of websites exchanging information about Bitcoin (BTC) and the small number of digital assets that traded alongside BTC in the early days. Some websites displayed the price of BTC and a handful of onchain stats to help people get a feel for the crypto markets and the uses of these blockchains. In the early days, web portals consisted of price chart sites like zeroblock.com, onchain metrics from blockchain.info (now blockchain.com), and crypto coin market aggregators like coinmarketcap.com.

With more than 10,000 crypto assets valued at around $ 2.21 trillion as of September 12, 2021, there is a plethora of data and analytics websites out there to help crypto backers with various insights. Coinmarketcap.com now has a number of competitors such as coingecko.com, coincap.io, market.bitcoin.com, and messari.io. All of them are very different, each offering a contrasting perspective on the aggregation of market capitalization of cryptocurrencies, as well as insights into different types of market data. Coingecko.com and messari.io, for example, show metrics such as percentages for crypto-coins over 24 hours, one week, two weeks, 30 days, 90 days and since the beginning of the year.

Bitcoin.com Markets (markets.Bitcoin.com) token summary statistics.

Markets.bitcoin.com offers a unique perspective on the market capitalization of coins and individual insights into different coins with professional Tradingview.com charts. Additionally, Bitcoin.com’s cryptocurrency market aggregator also displays token summaries taken from intotheblock.com. The coincap.io portal is similar to Markets.bitcoin.com and coingecko.com in that it shows an aggregated list of cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. Coincap.io is also interesting because visitors can exchange tokens by connecting a decentralized financial (defi) wallet such as Metamask, Portis, Torus and the Coinbase wallet.

Track, compare and access major ecosystem platforms

Another website that helps users explore cryptocurrency markets is coinread.com, which offers insights into 1,752 cryptocurrencies and metrics from 100+ crypto exchanges. Coinread.com offers a few different methods to examine key metrics such as rank, volume, circulating stocks, and the top exchanges where these digital currencies are most commonly traded. Users can compare different crypto assets to see price movements on a graph with a variety of choices.

In addition, coinread.com users can keep track of various coins and keep track of market changes associated with the user’s portfolio. Individual crypto assets are broken down into different time intervals, such as one hour, 24 hours, seven days, one month, and annual changes. Users can view a single crypto asset for a description of the token as well as key information like the project’s website, white paper, source code, blockchain explorer, social media links, and forums.

All of these web portals offer different perspectives on the vast land of crypto assets and there are many more helpful websites to keep you updated. Defillama.com, for example, is a Defi dashboard that shows the aggregated total that is blocked in Defi applications across multiple blockchains. Users can also visit the skew.com and bit.com web portals for further insights into crypto derivatives markets such as options, futures and perpetual swaps.

Dune Analytics provides insights into onchain Ethereum data, ether-based products, and market stats linked to things like defi, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and decentralized exchange platforms (Dex). Dappradar.com also reveals a wealth of facts and market statistics associated with Defi, NFTs, and NFT markets.

The aforementioned list of web portals informing crypto investors barely scratches the surface when it comes to data sites and analytics products. Best of all, though, all of these crypto apps are free to use, although some of the websites offer more depth of tracking for paid subscribers.
